Explore the tips

MAKE COMFORT A ROUTINE

HVAC maintenance, made simple.

Choose a topic and open a tip. Always follow your equipment’s owner manual.

01

EVERY MONTH

Keep the air moving.

Check your air filter

Inspect your filter monthly. Replace a dirty disposable filter with the correct size and type; clean a reusable filter only as its manual directs. Pets, dust and heavy use can mean more frequent attention.

Give vents and returns some space

Move furniture, rugs and curtains away from supply vents and return grilles. Gently vacuum surface dust. If a room still feels uncomfortable, ask us to check airflow instead of closing off other rooms’ vents.

Notice changes in comfort

Check that your thermostat’s mode and schedule match your routine. Note unusual sounds, uneven temperatures or longer run times so you can describe the change when requesting service.

02

BEFORE SUMMER & WINTER

Get ahead of the season.

Plan a seasonal tune-up

Schedule professional cooling maintenance in spring and heating maintenance in fall. A technician can check controls, electrical connections, coils, airflow and drains, plus heating components appropriate to your equipment.

Keep the outdoor area clear

Keep leaves and vegetation away from the outdoor unit and follow the manufacturer’s clearance requirements. Keep belongings off the unit. Leave cabinet removal, coil cleaning and electrical work to your technician.

Watch for water or ice

Visible water near indoor equipment or ice on refrigerant lines needs attention. Turn off cooling if you see ice or a leak, and request service. Don’t chip ice away or open electrical panels.

03

DUCTLESS COMFORT

A little mini-split care.

Follow your model’s filter instructions

Turn the system off before routine filter care. Only wash filters identified as washable in your owner manual, and let them dry completely before reinstalling. Specialty filters may need replacement instead.

Keep the indoor unit unobstructed

Leave the unit’s intake and outlet clear of curtains and furniture. Keep cleaning gentle; avoid spraying chemicals or water inside. Arrange professional cleaning for internal coils, blower wheels and drains.
